Day One - Settling In To The New Norm

Well we all arrived safely at camp and as I type this the last of the campers are drifting off to sleep.  After a non eventful bus ride we have set up camp and settled into our new home for the next few days.

Our first activity today was initiatives where groups got to have fun getting to know each other in a series of relay style events.  This included a water relay, Mr Collins clothing to add challenge to the egg and spoon race and blind sheep herding.

After all the fun and extreme heat we were ready to walk to the hot pools.  This was a tough experience for some of the campers as the walking seemed to last for ever.  Despite the complaining once at the pools most found the energy to run up and down hydro-slide stairs and bomb into the pools.  A lot of smiles and the walk back for tea was much quicker.

And that was all we have time for today.  Burgers, ice cream and then it was off to bed to get ready for tomorrows adventures.
